As you can imagine, it gets a little funky around the toilet, but cleans up easily with a gentle cleaning spray and some elbow grease. In hindsight, I would have gone with a light gray grout, which would be similar to the appearance of the flooring in this post before the grout was installed. With boys, a light charcoal gray would require much less maintenance and really let the tiles pop. Gray is also enough of a neutral, and has the old world feel of a bungalow. Let me know if you have more questions! Could you tell me how the white grout has held up? Does it stain easily or how is it to clean? I have two preschool boys so the cleaning aspect in a bathroom is SO huge in our grout choice. Thank you so much! sarahcsnodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01254421495472445720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1154262748922172074.post-27562711323584806102013-05-14T17:30:01.210-07:002013-05-14T17:30:01.210-07:00Hi there! We are also in the process of building, though we are having a shell built and then MY engineer hub:)will be doing all of the plumbing, electrical, hvac and finishing, whew! Minus a few things we'll be hiring our like sheetrock and insulation. We're also on a pretty tight budget so him doing so much will help us be able to afford a much nicer finished product. I was hoping you could let me know what size your master shower is? We're working now on dividing up our shower and tub area, planning a 4.5 or 5' shower and a 5.5 or 6' tub. The size of your shower seems so nice. Also how do you like the larger subway tile? Were those special order, I know I've seen 4x8 but I don't think I've seen 4x12 before. It looks amazing! I'm jealous of your marble slabs, none of that in our house, and I can't wait to see it finished! Though I just realized that while I'm going through your posts in order from last October, you likely have them all finished by now so I'll get to see them soon, lol. you can email me or reply, juliabrianne at gmail dot com. THanks so much for your time, and congrats on your home!!!
